The "restrictions" on teaching about race are rooted in and a response to the overwhelming move from the left, which dominates the teacher unions and teaching colleges, to base their history on Critical Race Theory. However, when one reads about these "restrictions" the implication is that elements doing the "restricting" want to eliminate any discussion of race - I've seen this repeatedly on FB postings, mostly from former/retired teachers who seem to be oblivious to what's happening in today's classrooms. Listening to these lefties one would think that the US invented slavery - the entire human history of slavery is rarely discussed - nor the reality that the slaves brought to the Western Hemisphere were sold by other Blacks in Africa.

This is excellent.
